There is a very powerful way to create your own affirmations. If you have no idea where to start with affirmations or if you’re looking for a deeper way of using them, this is for you.
Step 1: Make a list
First I want you to make a list of all the things you were accused of when you were younger. This could be something along the lines of: too loud, very quiet, too excited, a dreamer, stubborn, lazy, etc.
Everything you just wrote down are actually your biggest strengths, but society or the people around you made you believe they were bad things. They want to keep you small (sometimes unconsciously). They don’t want you to be confident in who you are, because they are not. It makes you scary or dangerous to them. And sometimes the people who love you will love you into failure. They are so afraid that you’ll ‘stand out’ and not fit in with the rest of society, so they think they’re protecting you. It’s a good thing you know better.
Step 2: Change the energy
So now, I want you to take this list and write down how these ‘negative’ aspects are your strengths. Change every single thing you wrote down into something positive. For example, if you wrote down ‘I am stubborn’, you can change that into ‘I pave my own path, I do things in my own unique way’. Or if you wrote down that you are a dreamer, you can turn this into: ‘I think big and in possibilities, I trust my vision.’ Do you feel the difference in energy? It’s like you’re reclaiming your power. You’re essentially reframing all the negative things you think about yourself that stem from your childhood. They are/were probably not even your thoughts to begin with.
Step 3: Create affirmations
You can turn these, now positive sentences, into affirmations. When you say those affirmations out loud, you’re reprogramming your subconscious mind to believe the things you want it to believe. With enough repetition, you’ll eventually start to see your life change. You’ll be amazed once you find out that a limiting belief is the thing that has been holding you back.
So to sum it all up; create a list of all the negative things you think about yourself or that people used to accuse you of when you were little. Then change the energy by changing the negative into something positive. Lastly, create affirmations with these, now positive, sentences and repeat these as many times as you can (out loud) throughout the day. Watch how your life changed. If you’re still a bit unsure whether affirmations work or not, read this blog post I wrote on the science behind affirmations.
Bonus: keep a journal and check in with yourself how you feel on the first day you start using the affirmations and after 10 days and after 30 days. The changes are going to be insane!
Ps: You can find a lot of your conditionings in the undefined centers in your Human Design chart! There’s a blog coming on Human Design soon, but you can google it too if you’re interested.
Lots of love,
Amira
